Steakout Cheetham Hill Review

Steakout on Cheetham Hill rest somewhere between a fast food vendor and low tier restaurant, think Nandos but with steak. I have passed this place many times on my way home from Manchester but it wasn’t until last week that I actually gave it a try. I was on my way to the gym and hadn’t eaten since breakfast, so needed something quick and light, how I ended up here I don’t know.

Initially I was only going to have a steak wrap but after perusing the menu I opted for a philly cheese steak sub, not as light as I wanted, what with all that runny cheese, but it looked too good to pass up.

Alone, the sandwich cost £4 but like all good eateries I was quickly up-sold to a meal deal. Trying to stick to the plan of eating reasonably healthily, I chose sweet potato fries instead of regular fries but let myself down when I asked for a red bull, instead of water. I’ll never learn. My £4 sandwich suddenly became a £9 meal which for a 1pm lunch is just a little too expensive my liking.

The sandwich itself was very nice but the sweet potato fries, although tasty were pretty oily and probably not that much of a healthy choice.

The rest of the items on the menu looked very tempting with burgers, wraps, parathas and hot-dogs to choose from, as well as steak meals of chicken, beef or mix steak all served with fried Onions mixed peppers and a choice of chips, rice or salad. There is even a vegetarian option and all the food served is halal.

The restaurant premises were large with plenty of seating for individuals and families. The place was very clean and tidy and the staff were very pleasant. I would probably return to Steakout again but not for lunch, I found it a little too expensive to justify; but for an evening meal that is not too fancy, I would highly recommend it.
